About the role

As VP of Marketing, you will work directly with the leadership team, be responsible for scaling the Userlane Marketing organization and shape our Marketing strategy to approach the complex challenges Userlane will solve within the next 3-5 years.  

We are looking for an inspiring manager and team builder who has demonstrated success in recruiting and developing outstanding talent and has a track record in successfully scaling Marketing teams and processes throughout phases of high growth.

Ideally, you bring deep experience in building and managing a high-performance B2B SaaS Marketing organization and aim to be a key decision-maker on how to solve today's' most challenging questions around the adoption of new technologies.

Your three main responsibilities:

  • Drive the Marketing strategy and planning
    Understand and shape the Userlane customer acquisition and expansion strategy, be a thought leader on how to maximize the impact of various Marketing disciplines, and develop a plan where the Userlane Marketing organization should be in 24-36 months. This includes headcount & process planning as well as making key decisions about setting priorities to balance short- and long-term objectives.
  • Ensure execution
    Your success will be measured based on the impact Marketing has on our revenue. This includes not only ensuring a delightful brand experience but also hitting KPIs along the complete customer journey - from awareness to closing to expansion and advocacy. Therefore, you will have full command of the Marketing organization and work closely with your peers in Sales, Product, Customer Success, and Engineering.
  • Scale the Marketing team and culture
    We grow fast, and the Marketing organization needs to scale with it. This will require you to hire and develop exceptional talent and give your teams enough ownership and latitude that they are happy and fulfilled in creating value for their stakeholders. Your key challenge will be to balance maintaining the existing culture with evolving a new one - while making sure our Marketing team excels on their mission and lives the values of our organization.

Your profile:

  • Experience
    You have a minimum experience of 5 years in a Marketing leadership position such as VP or Director Marketing, ideally in a fast-growing B2B software company that scaled by 5x-10x within a few years. You should have led and coordinated several Marketing disciplines/teams, such that you were responsible for goal setting, performance management, and hiring/firing decisions.
  • Expertise
    You understand that technology is always changing and bring expertise in Marketing strategies, frameworks, and software. Expert knowledge with scaling the commercial impact through Product Marketing, Demand Generation, and Brand/Communication, together with a track record of working together with Sales and Customer Success in an ABM setup, is a big plus. Additionally, you bring the ability to define Marketing processes along the full customer journey and know which tools and services to select in order to automate and accelerate Marketing workflows and evangelize our brand and value proposition towards potential and existing customers.
  • Personality
    You are an active listener and bring experience in nurturing, coaching, mentoring, and providing feedback to team members. You will be a role model for your team and you have the ability to build a collaborative Marketing culture based on trust. You communicate your ideas, feedback, and challenges and raise awareness of current and future risks and opportunities the company and Marketing organization might face and how we should approach them.
  • Mindset
    You can think strategically to reach company goals based on OKRs and are able to represent the Marketing organization towards all internal and external company stakeholders. You love to take ownership and aim to continuously raise the bar by making use of new technology and your passion for B2B Marketing.
