VetsEZ is seeking a highly talented remote Principle Software Engineer who will be responsible for designing, coding, testing, debugging and documenting software in a variety of programming languages. This developer also applies interactive and visual design principles to provide a cohesive user experience. The ideal candidate will possess a background in web development and working knowledge building responsive web design and development features.

The candidate must reside within the continental US.

Responsibilities:

  • Create strategies for developing IT systems and applications.
  • Evaluate alternative approaches and select optimal approaches.
  • Design, develop and participate in coding activities.
  • Work with the development team and production support team to ensure the applications are working as expected.
  • Work with the project manager and technical lead to provide updates and progress on development projects.
  • Participate in architecture enhancements by supporting enterprise and maintenance releases.
  • Engage with external team members and business owners to explain the existing and new applications or functionalities.
  • Maintain and assist in documenting processes to support other development efforts.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Electronics Engineering, or other Engineering or technical discipline.
  • A minimum of 7 years of experience is required.
  • Certifications in relevant technology plus a minimum of 7 years of relevant experience or a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience may be substituted for education.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and use of modern software development and DevOps tools including GitHub and implementation of a DevOps pipeline in a cloud environment.
  • Chief Architect or Senior Engineer expertise on a production system in one of the Cloud Service Provider (CSP) Vendors Clouds.
  • Experience as a Software Engineer for at least one project in one of the CSP Vendors Clouds.

Additional Qualifications:

  • Experience in the VA or other health-related organizations desired.
  • Ability to obtain a government clearance.
