Role: Warehouse Team Manager – Permanent, Parker Lane Group 

Reporting To: PLG Management  

Location: Units 5 and 6, Waleswood Industrial Estate, Waleswood road, S26 5PY 

Salary: £25-£27k dependant on experience

Your Responsibilities: 

As a Warehouse Team Manager, you will ensure the smooth running of the Waleswood warehouse, ensuring stock is stored efficiently and safely, inventory is correctly recorded and accounted for and supporting other staff members. Communication, operational and organisational skills are a must.  

Being more specific, you will: 

  • Line manage warehouse staff 
  • Ensure health and safety of staff and warehouse visitors at all times 
  • Review, maintain and improve health and safety standards at all times 
  • manage all deliveries into and out of warehouse  
  • Process inbound deliveries within the warehouse 
  • Devise and maintain an accurate stock control system 
  • Digitise loading and packing sheets 
  • Devise and maintain an accurate warehouse supplies stock items list 
  • Raise and pick order from multiple stock items 
  • Liaise between Business Development, Sales and Operations to ensure all stakeholders are synchronised 
  • Research cost reduction and efficiency opportunities for the entire supply chain 
  • Ensure deliveries are loaded on time in order to avoid incurring OTIF penalties 
  • Automate manual tasks to improve team efficiency 
  • Coordinate tasks and projects to support the achievement of operational objectives & performance improvement 
  • Report to senior management on all aspects of operations 

Professional Experience: 

Experience in an operational role is essential. We are looking for someone with: 

  • 5 years minimum experience of managing warehouse spaces 
  • NEBOSH/IOSH qualification (preferred, not essential) 
  • RTITB/ITSSAR counterbalance forklift truck certification (essential) 
  • A passion for breaking down and improving operational processes 
  • Good numeracy and Excel skills 
  • Excellent verbal communication 
  • The ability to prioritise, organise and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
